Chrome is a coating to protect the appearance of metal and plastic parts. It is also used to restore and prolong the life of surfaces. In the industry, this process is divided into two lines: hard chrome and decorative chrome, the latter being used within Estañadora.

Decorative chrome is used to give beauty and protect metal or plastic parts from corrosion by creating a thin layer of chrome to create a glossy bluish-mirror finish, this coating makes the pieces look showy and reflective.

In Estañadora this finish is accompanied by other Nickel coatings, to provide greater resistance to corrosion.
